Calne Springs Craft and Gift Market

As a regular stall holder at the Calne Springs Craft market it has been exciting to see how the market has grown with most market days being fully booked well in advance (so get in quick!). The market takes place on the second Saturday of every month and this year during key months and times of the year, Calne Springs are trailing two markets in these months.

March was the first month this year to have two markets with the second market held on Saturday 26 March. The sun was shining, the market was fully booked stretching from Iceland to Sainsbury’s and the people of Calne were out and shopping! As a florist offering real and artificial displays, I’ve been able to build up a regular customer base and it was good to see both regular and new faces and getting some fantastic product feedback always helps too! It’s always a learning curve, one mouth most sales will be via card payment, the next will be 50/50 between card and cash, but this market saw most of my customers paying via cash. Halfway through the morning I made that rookie mistake and ran out of change, and I had to get a friend to do an emergency “change” run the upside is that I’m pleased to report no sales were lost! For me, this was another very successful market with 92% of my stock selling on the day!
Here’s hoping the market keeps on growing and that the people of Calne continue to support it!
